The Match:
Matchday 13 - 23/05/2021 Old Wulfs v Panthers Jungle U 11's X-X - Great 1st half from the lads, playing good pass and move football - again gave away silly goals in 2nd half which cost us dearly. POTM was L.
Matchday 12 - 16/05/2021 U11s Jungle Panthers v Old Wulfs East U11's - final score X - X. Panthers not at there best today forgot the basics - lots to work on in training this week - ⚽️ POTM T for his hard work.
Matchday 11 - 09/05/2021 U11s Panthers Jungle X v Brierley Hill Bullets X - Great end to end game of football played by both teams -Panthers took the lead in 1st half from a good goal by Ryan but found themselves trailing X - X at half time due to a couple of silly goals conceded. The boys levelled the score thru Luca but then lost concentration in a mad 5 mins when the team switched off and conceded another X goals. However full credit they didn't let there heads drop and scored two excellent worked goals to make it X - X and pressing for an equalizer. Panthers came very close on a number of occasions but it was not to be and conceded near the end. However a really good game all the boys did very well special mentions to Luca who captained the team well and scored and also to Frankie for great battling after being on the receiving end of some rough tackling also Alfie who was voted POTM by the opposition manager for some great play down to right wing and scoring a good goal. Good Grass roots game .Well done both teams.
Matchday 10 - 02/05/2021 U11s - Wolverines v Jungle - Result 6 -1. However score didn't reflect full picture of the game - Wolverines very good side however our boys more than matched them for effort and ability taking a 1 nil lead from a Ryan penalty that the keeper initially saved but was on his toes to follow up the rebound. A good goal and 2 penalties meant Wolverines led at half time which flattered them. However 2nd half we conceded 3 more but still kept battling and creating g chances. A good game and despite the scoreline good progress for the Panthers they are coming on every week. Special mention to Tyler for his performance POTM. We go again next week 👍
Matchday 9 - 18/04/2021 U11s Jungle: Final score lost 6-1 - good even 1st half unfortunate to go in 2-1 down - started off well 2nd half however with injuries to H and missing A and L, the fresh legs of Wolverine told in the last 10 mins. However all part if the learning experience ⚽️ L POTM for some absolutely awesome saves.
Matchday 8 - 11/04/2021 Panthers U11's Safari v Jungle Result 3 -3 - Short and sweet report - What a great game end to end game played hard and fair by both teams with no shortage of good football which was really great to watch and a real credit to involved from players thru to coaches and support from the parents - Just great for everyone to be back - Grass roots football is very much alive and well in the Panthers family - 😀⚽️👍
Matchday 7 - 04/04/2021
Panthers U11's Jungle vs Kingswinford Bullets Match Report - who would have imagined this was 1st game back after the latest enforced lockdown given the fantastic performance by the whole squad - The team was solid in all areas and played some great attacking football.A superb strike by Tom on the stroke of halftime saw Panthers leave the field in the lead which was well deserved for all there attacking. 2nd half Panthers started where they had left off with great attacking football which after a great team move was rewarded with a great 2nd goal by POTM Ryan who smashed the ball into the roof of the net. A good game played in the right spirit by both - Final result KFord Bullets 0 - Panthers U11's 2 - Great to see the kids play with smiles on there faces 🙂⚽️ Fantastic support and encouragement from all the Coaches and Parents -Great to be back 🙂👍⚽️
Andy said: U11's Jungle...If I have to be quite honest I couldn’t pick a fault with any individual, 1st game back & with the weather being quite hot & kids not played a full game for a while.... Played well 1st half & got what I thought well deserved goal with scoring just before half-time (TB scorer) 2nd half half pretty much exactly the same as the 1st half with R scoring his 1st ever goal for Panthers & he was our man of the match, but in my eyes the whole squad was but R was like a blonde Roy Keane. A lot of passing from the team but need to learn on more talking & moving off the ball.
COVID LOCKDOWN
Matchday 6 - 20/12/2020
U11's Match report: Old Wulfs East v Sedgley Panthers U11s Jungle Result 3-2 : - Game started brightly with both teams playing some smart passing football however the 1st goal went to Wulfs after an incisive move was finished off with a low shot into bottom corner. Panthers responded well with good movement from L and R playing in both A I and F who both went close with chances. However not long to wait before Frankie broke down the right side and beat the keeper from edge of the box with a sublime shot that left the keeper with no chance - i doubt you would see a finer finish at any grassroots game this weekend. !!!!! After some pressure Wulfs took the lead again as the 1st half drew to a close. Panthers came out with renewed enthusiasm at the start of 2nd half and showed great battling spirit as they pushed for and equaliser. As the game wore on Wulfs broke and after some great defending we were harshly judged as Wulfs were awarded a penalty from which they scored. Undeterred Panthers came back strongly driven forward by Ryan and Archie and some good play down the wings by L and T. The fighting spirit paid of as after a goalmouth scramble the ball was bundled over the line to reduce the deficit and set up the game for a grandstand finish. Panthers came close to the equaliser and a beautiful free kick from Frankie pulled out a top drawer save from there keeper. Panthers pushed to the end but just couldnt find the equaliser. As the final whistle sounded Wulfs blew a sigh of relief knowing they had won a hard fought battle and Panthers could hold there heads high knowing they had all given of there best. Great game played in the right spirit.!!!!
Matchday 5 - 13/12/2020
U11's Halesowen Town Colts South 2 - Sedgley Panthers 3 - Great game played in tough conditions at Blakedown this morning. Panthers started brightly with great passing football resulting in a flurry of close chances and great saves by Colts keeper before we eventually took a deserved lead thru a shot on the turn by Ryan after goal mouth action. This was closely followed up when Tom was bought down in box when thru on goal. He dusted himself down to step up and stroke the ball into the corner off the net leaving there keeper no chance. Half time 0 -2. Start of 2nd half saw Colts on the front foot and pressed on to score 2 goals to level up . At this time the game was finely balanced however Panthers gained there composure and shape and after a fine pass from Luca that set Tom free down the wing he crossed into the box for Frankie to fire in from close range to make it 2-3 to Panthers. The team held on to record a great hard fought win. Congrats to each and every players who gave there all today they were all superb ⚽️⚽️🍾🎉🎉🎉⚽️⚽️👍Tom POTM for Panthers U11's Jungle today - fantastic performance showed great skill and instrumental in many of our attacks today - made 2 goals and scored from the penalty spot - Well done Tom 👍⚽️👍
Matchday 4 - 01/11/2020
U11's Tividale Academy 3 Sedgley Panthers 2 - fantastic game played by both sides - Panthers went 1 down against the run of play after 15 mins but kept battling away and after a great move Frankie equalized for teams to go in level at half time. Panthers started 2nd half where they left off playing some great passing football d0wn the wings and were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions with Frankie ,Tom Alfie I and Liam all testing the keeper. Again we went behind against the run of play. However the lads kept going and scored again through Alfie Needs who celebrated in style after neatly scoring into bottom right hand corner of the net. Near the end Tividale snatched a late winner as Panthers were relentless in pushing forward. A truly great match in which each and every player did themselves proud. Special mention to young Harry who was voted by the parents as POTM - absolutely superb playing in his 1st outing as left back . Take a bow young man you were superb. Johnny Ing your pitch side reporter signing off 👍 Up the Panthers 👍
Matchday 3 - 18/10/2020
U11's played Halesowen Town Colts. Started off very brightly, very tight for 20mins, conceded goals and made mistakes which cost us in the end, the team did battle hard though. R got man of the match for his battling display in midfield - never stopped running.
Matchday 2 - 11/10/2020
U11's played Halesowen Town Colts in an rearranged KO time; both teams started great pressing and creating chances. Halesowen opened the scoring through some good play. While we pushed and tried to create an opening they scored again but we managed to get one back scored by W - going into half time behind. We had to make some changes at half time to try and turn things around we started on the right foot by getting one back quickly; the lads heads were up and we played some really nice football only to concede again, but the lads never gave up to the final whistle. Scorers for Sedgley were W (3) Ta(1) Th (1) and Max (1). I asked the opposition to choose motm today and he chose M for his brilliant play and confidence on the ball topped off by a wonderful goal.
Matchday 1 - 13/09/2020
First game of the season for u11's Jungle; I think nerves got 2 some of the lads, 3 mistakes lead to goals against us and a offside for there last goal which was never given because our linesman didn't keep his flag up, goals for us A ad T. Motm went to S absolutely brilliant at RB, tackles, good balls down the line, we seemed to crumble when she went off.
