Matchday 20 - 08/05/2022

Netherton Colts - 1- 2

Dean Said:  U16s played Netherton Colts today, we started the stronger team, missing our opportunities to take the lead. Much the better team today, they had two chances which they took 2-0 going into half time. 
We came out where we left off, winning most of the ball in challenges, we got a penalty which was converted by Kyle 2-1 ended up being the final score
POTM was the whole team for their performance today and overall attitude. 

Matchday 19 - 24/04/2022

Trysull Tigers - 4- 1

Dean Said:  U16s played Trysull Tigers today we started strong moving the ball around creating chance after chance then finally finding the back of the net through Kyle, we quickly got our second through Kolade dominating the football we soon got our 3rd through Kyle going into half time 3-0 up should have been 8 or 9 
Pretty much starting where we left off moving the ball from side to side, quick passing creating chances they had a chance which we didnt deal with and they got one back 3-1 which didnt last long as Kolade got his second and our 4th final score 4-1 panthers a dominating performance today 
Motm was Kolade for his physical presence and goals

Trysull Tigers - 0- 2

Dean Said:  U16s played Trysull Tigers today creating chances and opportunities but couldnt find the back of the net which was pretty much our day other than going into half time behind and finishing up on the losing end again.

Matchday 17 - 13/03/2022

Forest Falcons - 1- 2

Dean Said:  U16s played Forest Falcons starting strong and pressing high should have been 3 up in ten minutes but we couldnt find the net then we had a break through Kyle, who opened the scoring for us 1-0. Moving the ball about comfortably and pressing but not converting our chances going into half time 1-0 
Second half we started strong but got caught with a long ball which they managed to convert 1-1. Falcons the stronger team second half which showed they soon got there 2nd 1-2 giving it our all but still not being able to find the back of the net final score 1-2 Falcons POTM today was Dan for being solid at the back.

Matchday 16 - 06/03/2022

Halesowen Town - 3- 2

Dean Said:  U16s played Halesowen Town today, starting slow and not playing our usual game Halsowen got the lead 1-0. Giving the ball away too easily and not making challenges they soon extended their lead 2-0. With the lads trying to play football, we got caught again 3-0 going into half time behind.

Coming out second half a with a different approach and much more on the front foot,  we took the game to them and with Kyle being brought down in the box,  he converted to make it 3-1. We then woke up finally finding our feet and pressing high, moving the ball about, Kyle got brought down again in the box! 3-2. Halsowen were a lot stronger, pressing and wanting it more, we ran out of time.

Final score 3-2 Halsowen.

POTM today was Dan -  for his strong stature at the back and overall general play. 

Matchday 15 - 27/02/2022

Cookley Comets - 3- 2

Dean Said:  U16s played Cookley Comets today starting slow and playing sloppy, we went behind 1-0 Cookley. We got one back through Brook 1-1 going into half time.
Second half pretty much the same, we went behind again 2-1 Cookley. Making a couple of changes seemed to get us motivated, we got a penalty awarded to us, and on his debut Kolade levelled the score 2-2. With the bit between our teeth, we got our 3rd through Arj 3-2 Panthers which ended up being the final score.
POTM today was Arj, for his work on and off the ball. 

Matchday 14 - 06/02/2022

Withymoor - 6- 0

Dean Said:  U16s played top of the league Withymoor 
We started slow and they punished us 1-0,  playing poor it was soon 2 then 3.  

Half time - 3-0 Withymoor 

We lost a player down so we're down to ten men, which meant a uphill struggle 

Second half, we came out fighting and a lot stronger, but being down to ten, we had a battle on our hands.

Final score 6-0 Withymoor 

POTM today was Shaan,  for his work rate all over the pitch and never give up attitude

Matchday 13 - 23/01/2022

West Hagley - 2-1

Dean Said:  U16 played West Hagley today starting slow and giving our all, eventually matched teams. Then from nothing a 35 yard shot caught us off guard 1-0 West Hagley. Going into half time behind.
A strong talk at half time and the lads came out fighting, a totally different team the second half, pressing high in their faces with challenges and not giving them time on the ball. We got a corner which was delivered sweetly for Kyle to over head kick in the back of the net ( smashed it ) We kept the tempo up and pressed high. Shaan got our second 2-1. With us creating more chances but the ball just wouldnt go in.
Final score 2-1 Panthers 
POTM today was Joe,  for his outstamding performance, challenges and general overall reading of the game.

Matchday 12 - 16/01/2022

Withymoor - 5-3

Dean Said:  U16 played top of the league Withymoor today who havent lost a game all season - played 10 won 10.
We started strong moving the ball around and with some nice play,  we got the break through with Arj 1-0 Panthers. Creating chances and taking the game to them, which they didn't like then we made a sloppy mistake which cost us 1-1 going into half time level. 
Strong talking too and with spirits high we soon was back in the lead through Dan 2-1. We wanted it more today and soon got the 3rd 3-1 through kyle. With some nice play and running off the ball,  we got our 4th - 4-1 Panthers through Jo. Then from nothing they got there 2nd, they quickly got their third 4-3 with minutes left, one on one with keeper kyle got his second and our 5th 5-3 Panthers final score
Motm today was Aiden for his work rate on and off the ball and contribution to some of the goals.

Matchday 11 - 19/12/2021

Netherton Colts - 2-7

Dean Said:  U16 played Netherton Colts today in a 2nd v 3rd game. We started strong passing and creating chances, we were unlucky not to score. Then they hit us and got a goal we got back one back through Brook 1-1. Then sloppy play and silly errors, we gave them their 2nd  2-1 Colts. A long ball over the top 3-1 Colts. We got the ball down and played some cracking football and we got one  back through shaan 3-2 .  Then from nothing they got their 4th 4-2 Colts going into half time behind. We changed a few things round and went out positive, but that didnt last long conceding another through errors 5-2, at this point the lads heads went down and it was an up hill battle which we did to the end. Final score 7-2 Netherton Colts 
No POTM today.

Matchday 10 - 12/12/2021

West Hagley - 3-2

Dean Said:  U16s played West Hagley today, we started slow as it was an early KO 10.30 🙈 Going 1 down from slippy play 10 minutes into the game. Then they got another 2-0. We then woke up up and got one back through Shaan 2-1 Hagley going into half time behind. 

Making a couple of changes starting the second half strong, then from nothing they got there 3rd 3-1 Hagley. With a change of formation, we got one back through Jack 3-2. With minutes left, we missed a couple of chances to get level and it ended FT 3-2 Hagley.

POTM today was Jack for his work rate on and off the ball.

Matchday 9 - 05/12/2021

PS Olympic - 4-4 (lost 4:2 on penalties)

Dean Said:  U16s played PS Olympic in the league cup today, in a cracking game of football,
Going 1-0 up through Kyle, then some sloppy play let them back into it 1-1 going into half time.
We started the second half slow, which gave them the opportunity to get their second 1-2 PS, they went on to get a third, through some sloppy play.
Not concentrating and giving the ball away too easy, it was soon 4-1. With 15 minutes left, from a corner, we got one back through Joe 4-2. With our heads up, we pressed hard and got our 3 through Dan 4-3. We started to play football, we got our fourth from the spot with Kyle converting it 4-4. We then gave a pen away,  which Mason saved at the last kick of the game 4-4 final score
A quick break and no extra time we went to penalties and lost out 4-2.
POTM was awarded to Shaan for his constant pressure, never give up attitude and great feet 

Matchday 8 - 21/11/2021

Halas Hawks - 7-3

Dean Said:  U16 played Halas Hawks today. 
We started strong missing chances one after another, we soon found the net though, through Kyle 1-0. Some sloppy play let them back in 1-1.  Trying to play we got our 2nd through Arj 2-1 and pressing high and forcing a corner we got our 3rd through Laws, going into half time 3-1 up.

We started the second half slow and they soon got one back 3-2 Arj them got his second 4-2. Switching off they got there 3rd 4-3. Moving the ball around kyle got his second 5-3 and shortly after he got his hat-trick 6-3 kyle.  Arj stepped up to finish it off 7-3 final score.

POTM today was Arj for his hard work on and off the ball and two cracking goals.

Matchday 7 - 14/11/2021

Lickhill - 5 -3
Dean Said:  U16s, with their arm bands on, played Lickhill. Starting slow and with sloppy passing causing us problems we went 1 down. Kyle brought us back level 1-1, then we did it again 2-1 Lickhill, we got caught again 3-1. We then decided to start playing, Kyle got his second 3-2, then from a corner Kyle caught it sweet with a overhead kick finding top bins! 3-3 going into half time.

A strong chat at half time, the lads booked their ideas up,  4-3 panthers. Brook getting on the score sheet. Finally getting a hold on the game, we got our 5th through Dan.  Final score 5-3 Panthers.

POTM today was Kyle not only for his goals but his work rate on and off the ball. 

Matchday 6 - 24/10/2021

Ferndale - 3 -2
Dean Said:  U16s played Ferndale today we started strong going 1 up through Kyle,  trying to play our game today we got caught through some sloppy play 1-1. We regrouped and started to play our game, switching the play, creating chances on both sides of the pitch. Brook then got our 2nd, 2-1 Panthers going into half time in the lead. Having no subs today, except a goalie we made a change, looking positive passing the ball and pressing high we got caught with a long ball over the top 2-2. Swapping a couple of players around we got the breakthrough with Kyle, getting his second 3-2 Panthers, final score 3-2 win.

POTM was Lawson, for his work rate on and off the ball, his pasing vision and his general overall play was good.


Matchday 5 - 17/10/2021

Smethwck Raiders - 10 - 1
Dean Said:  U16 played Smethick Raiders today we started strong goin 1 up in the first 2 min through Arjun who then got his second with a lovely strike from outside the box.  Playing some really nice football and creating chances Dan got on the score sheet 3-0 panthers, Then with some sloppy play we conceded 3-1. Moving the ball quickly and pressing high, Kyle got one 4-1 going into half time in the lead. Making a couple of changes at half time, spreading the ball out wide, we soon got our 5th through Mark. Playing the ball around Kyle got his second 6-1. Moving a couple of players around, giving us more options, Aiden got his 1st 7-1 and quickly followed by his second 8-1. Creating chances through swift play, Mark got his second 9-1. Aiden them soon got his 3rd 10-1 final score.
POTM today was Dan for his strong play, confidence on the ball and his wide range of passing, his goal topped it off. 

Matchday 4 - 10/10/2021

Halfway Juniors - 2- 2 [BIRMINGHAM FA COUNTY CUP]
Dean Said:  U16 played Halfway Juniors in the Birmingham FA County Cup today. We started strong against a division 1 team, pressing high and moving the ball around, but couldnt take our chances. We then got caught by a long ball over the top 1-0.  Regrouping, we dug in and battled for the ball, winning possession and switching the play and creating chances but just couldnt find the net. Then through some sloppy passing, they got their 2nd. Going into half time behind, We rallied the boys and got them ready for second half. Starting strong trying to play football, we got caught by sloppy play again, which we got punished for 3-0. We kept battling, right to the end and were unfortunate not to get a late goal. Final score 4-0 Halfway Juniors 
POTM today was Josh A. for his strong challenges and good defending. 


Matchday 3 - 03/10/2021

Cookley Comets - 2- 2
Dean Said:  U16 played Cookley Comets today ( Ex Wolves player Jody Craddock is the manager ) 
We started strong, moving the ball around and spreading the play, pressing high. Then from a corner, we got the opener through Kyle with a cracking header. On the front foot we played some nice football, finding the channels and whipping the ball in the box, unfortunately we  couldnt capitalise this time round with a long ball played from the opposition we gave a penalty away, Jamie getting a hand to it but just couldnt stop it going in. 1-1 into half time.

Second half, we swapped a few things around and it worked, we got our second through Shaan 2-1 panthers. Out playing the opposition at times, we started to play how we do flowing football, but some sloppy defending by us and they equalised 2-2.
 
Final score 2-2, a fair result considering the poor weather we had

POTM today was Joe, worked hard all game and deserved POTM. 

Matchday 2 - 26/09/2021

Halesowen Town - 6 - 1
Dean Said:  U16s played Halesowen Town today, we started strong going into the lead through Arj, then quickly we got our second again from Arj. Playing some nice football, pressing high and winning most of the challenges, we held onto the lead going into half time 2-0.

Second half resumed and a couple of changes we took the game to them, we scored our 3rd through Kyle. Moving the ball quickly and creating space, we then got our 4th from Kyle again. We then got caught with the long ball and Halesowen got on back 4-1
We then got the ball down and started to play football, swift passing, plenty of movement on and off the ball, which created our 5th through Shaan 5-1. With our heads up the 6th goal shortly followed from Kyle. Full time 6-1 Panthers.
POTM today was Arjun, for his work rate, vision of passing, great movement and his two goals.

Matchday 1 - 12/09/2021

Forest Falcons - 2 - 4
Dean Said:  U16 played Foresst Falcons today started off strong was the better team to begin with going a goal in front thru Arj. Then with some.sloppy play and not concentrating, we let them get one back 1-1. With our heads down they got a quick 2nd 2-1 Falcons. Trying to play football and passing the ball around, a long ball from the keeper caught us out 3-1 falcons going into half time loosing. A strong talk at half time we came out fighting, moving the ball more quickly and pressing high, we got our 2nd - 3-2 Falcons. The lads started to play football, creating chances again, but we then got caught sleeping, Falcons got their fourth.  Final score 4-2 Forest Falcons
Our POTM chosen by the opposition was Shaan,  for his vision of passing, quick feet and work rate.
