Gornal Sedgley United (a) - 6 - 2 Season fizzled out a little bit today after last weeks defeat I think, but tough to take this one; absolutely nothing went our way all day - some great play leading up to our CF hitting the crossbar at 1:0 - if that goes in it could have been very different! But no excuses - second best all over the pitch after half time if we are honest....well done Gornal. A mixed team in a league of boys must make you proud as a parent to see what we are achieving and making this team (squad as whole) something to be part of. Onwards and upwards for the kids; coaching staff believe that this team can do much more and deliver much more all said and done. The defence was solid today, midfield was next to do what we asked, K was outstanding on the wing J and S held there own. L&L worked the line. A didn't have much to do but what she did have delivered. Overall great team performance inter linking play was spot on - movement off the ball was what we do in training. Always going to be tough against top of the league on their own patch; matched them for 20 minutes IMO before a speculative effort from long range gave them the lead despite C getting a glove on it...….knocked the stuffing out of us a little. C made a couple more great saves to keep us in the game before a quality strike to bring it back to 2-1 did give us a bit of hope, albeit briefly. Credit to the kids who kept going until the end and did make chances to make the score line more respectable - I think 4-1 flattered them a little in the end. Onwards and upwards Panthers! Well done everyone 👏🐾⚽ Dean Said: Todays performance was a lot better than the last few weeks, all the players had a fire in their belly. Each and everyone played a part today; S played his part in midfield, spread the ball out wide and mixed the play up; R played well as sweeper, the defense was more structured today and played well as a unit; attackers pressed and put the opposition under pressure; C didn't have much to do and what he did have he dealt with - great safe hands. Over view; great team performance, something that has been missing - a lot of credit to the kids for stepping up, some playing out of position and filling those roles well 👏👏👏👊👊👍⚽️🐾

Gave it a good go, but not happening for us today kids. Deserved a draw IMHO for our industry and graft, but undone by a couple of quick breaks by their fast front line.... we move on! Dean Said:Frustrating today, the game was there to be won and we played well 1st half. Goals from K8 and A5 in 2nd half, brought us back into the game which by this time we should have wrapped it up. We are still in the league, but we need to take our opportunities and capitalize on them. Next week is another game to work towards and build on from this ⚽️🐾

Ding dong derby today against our erstwhile Scorpion colleagues who are now part of the newly formed Gornal Sedgley set up - great win for our kids today, well done everybody. Particularly happy with the clean sheet, so well done to Mr C for MOTM (I put it down to the lucky cap)! Dean Said:Derby day today for Panthers against Scorpions..... Everyone did what was asked of them, we played when we could and showed we weren't there to make the league up; all parents must be proud of there child in the part they played in this game. The goals came thru pressing and pressure which we work on in training which is being introduced into match play which is down to the kids listening and producing what is asked of them. Next game is another game team panthers 🐾

Dean Said: Overall todays performance was a fair performance by ourselves. 2nd half was a lot better than the 1st, we got the result after a battle which we made for ourselves, the team talk by JD got the kids more switched on at half time and playing like we know the kids can play.
